Words, Words, and More Words
Words can no doubt cause trouble in many ways. At times, they can hide hatred and mal-intent which boils underneath the surface. They deceive the hearer, preventing them from knowing the speaker’s actual hatred.
At other times, the slander of words while intending to hurt another just prove that the speaker is a fool. They say more about the speaker than the intended target of the slander.
Even in their multiplicity, they grow in their likelihood of transgressing. The more one speaks, the more transgressions that may grow out of those words.
Yet, restraint in words produces prudence. The tongue of the righteous works qualitatively differently than the tongue of the unrighteous. The tongue of the righteous is as valuable as a precious metal in contrast to the worthless heart of the wicked.
The tongue of the righteous is not only valuable, but provides nourishment for many besides its speaker. Meanwhile fools suffer want to the point of dying for the lack of sense in their words.
Strive for words of blessing from a heart of righteousness in your daily life. Though the foods of the table which enter your mouth do impact your health, the words of your heart passing out of your mouth also influence your physical well-being. You are a spiritual and physical being needing attention to both aspects of life for optimal health.
