Laurel (Sunny) Austin, NP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated from Vanderbilt with a master’s degree in Nursing. She is passionate about caring for patients holistically and addressing root causes of chronic disease. Her goal is to work collaboratively and individually with patients to help them live healthier lives.

Laurel is thankful that God led her to Sanctuary Functional Medicine. Sunny’s experience in primary care and urgent care — along with training in functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine — helps her provide integrative care to children and adults, and she is enthusiastic to apply her expertise to help you in your journey towards healing at Sanctuary.

Andrew Bohunicky, PA-C

Intensive Provider

Andrew Bohunicky, PA-C, graduated from NOVA Southeastern University with a Masters in Physician Assistant studies in 2019. He recently moved his family from North Carolina to Tennessee and is excited to be a part of the Sanctuary Functional Medicine team.

After spending the first few years of his career working in conventional Family Medicine Andrew felt frustrated by the reality that most of his patients were not getting healthier with the standard care model. His goal as a provider is to help his patients thrive and he felt that God was calling him down a new path. Andrew is currently completing training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and is excited to utilize this knowledge to help his patients live fuller and healthier lives.

Lauren Schritter, FNP-BC

Lauren Schritter, FNP-BC, graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She brings a unique aspect to the team as she has a diverse background in healthcare, having graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).

Lauren has worked in a variety of healthcare settings but felt called to advance her education to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in functional medicine. She is in the process of becoming certified through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Lauren’s commitment to ongoing education and patient-centered care defines her as a practitioner who goes beyond symptoms, striving for long-term wellness in everyone she serves.

Lynn Day, PA-C, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, and has spent her career working in Family Medicine. Lynn is passionate about serving patients well and genuinely enjoys the chance to develop relationships with them individually.

Recently, she moved from Iowa to Tennessee and is thrilled to start a new chapter in life implementing her skills in the world of functional medicine. She feels blessed to be a part of the Sanctuary team and is dedicated to providing excellent care along your healing journey from a holistic medical perspective.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics at the University of Delaware and later obtained her master’s degree in Functional Nutrition from Parker University. Stacie enjoys teaching patients about how to have healthy balance and loves to get others excited about how food can be powerful medicine to heal the body.

She will make sure to meet you where you are at with your nutrition and find solutions that work best for you to further facilitate your healing journey throughout the program here at Sanctuary!

Because of this, I have a passion for functional mental health and have devoted my career to helping people overcome their mental struggles when faced with physical conditions.
