Financial Resources - Sanctuary Functional Medicine

Your health is worth the investment and we want to work with you to access the program which can help you live a healthier more abundant life. For patients who know they need Sanctuary’s care but need some help with the finances to obtain it, we are intermittently evaluating programs that cover medical care outside of traditional insurance.

Besides the programs further below, we do our best to lower costs as much as we can. For example, if a lab is not covered by insurance, we provide the lowest prices we can, sometimes 30-75% lower than the normal price. For patients in a program, we offer supplements through our online store at full discount (ie we don’t make a dime off of them).

Below are options which we are aware of that can sometimes help financially. We are not directly affiliated with any of these in any official or unofficial way. If you choose to use one of these services, you are still the primary person responsible for service fees and we are not liable for their services.

Care Credit

For those wishing to use Care Credit, they will not work with us as we are not procedure based.

Cost Sharing Ministries

Samaritan’s Ministries, Medi-share, and Christian Healthcare Ministries are all good programs as alternatives to insurance. They allow members to share the costs of medical care with the larger group and are usually much less expensive than traditional insurance. There are some downsides.

None of these groups cover significant pre-existing conditions. If you are already a member, then a new diagnosis will be covered.
Christian Healthcare Ministries DOES NOT cover any natural or alternative therapies including functional medicine. I have argued for patients in the past, but they will not budge on their rules.
Medi-share operates the most like health insurance, but covers many therapies we do.
We cannot guarantee any of our therapies will be covered by any of these groups.

Other Cost Sharing Ministries

There are a few others popping up. I expect their rules to be similar to those above except that they may not require any statement of faith as required for the 3 above.

There are also some grants for special situations including government grants. I advise against a government based grant as it often fails to pay and almost always requires unreasonable amounts of paperwork.
