Certified Medical Assistant
Opportunity:
Sanctuary Functional Medicine is seeking a certified Medical Assistant with a functional medicine background/interest who desires to see broken lives restored to healthier more abundant lives. As part of the Sanctuary team you will participate in building a safe place where chronically ill patients find compassion and new hope through a whole person, root cause, functional medicine approach. Position would be full time 24 to 40 hours per week with no weekends, no holidays, and no call. The position will work in collaboration with clinical providers and staff assisting with patient check in/out, making appointments, answering patient calls and questions either over the phone or the patient portal, phlebotomy and lab draws as needed in the clinic setting. About our clinic:
Under the direction of Eric Potter, MD, the clinic offers a Functional Medicine approach to assist patients in finding the root cause of their illness. We are expanding our team due to patient demand. This is an opportunity to become part of inter-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy as needed, as well as process and complete lab work
- Take patient history and vitals prior to office visit and/or IV Therapy,
- Complete patient follow up/instructions after visit as directed
- Perform EKG’s & other testing as needed
- Set up referrals and external testing as needed
- Communicate with physician and/or clinicians regarding patient care
- Answer patient questions via patient portal, on phone or face to face
- Maintain accurate electronic patient medical records
- Schedule patient appointments per template
- Welcome patients at receptionist station and enter into system
- Review patient forms for complete and obtain updated forms
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant with minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in the clinic outpatient setting
- Well skilled in phlebotomy
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, as well as multi-tasking
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with adult, as well as pediatric patients
- Must be open minded to training and willing to learn new techniques
