Hi, I’m Dr. Cynthia Reed, a physician with over 19 years of experience in primary care, emergency/ urgent care medicine, and functional medicine. My journey in healthcare, which included serving in the United States Air Force, has taken me through various clinical settings, shaping both my clinical perspective and my deep commitment to patient-centered care. I’m originally from Georgia, and after spending time practicing in other parts of the country, I’m truly looking forward to returning to the Southeast—a place that feels like home in so many ways– and joining the team at Sanctuary Functional Medicine.
What continues to inspire me most about this work is the opportunity to truly partner with patients in their health journey. I believe the most meaningful care begins with listening—understanding your story, your goals, and the factors that have shaped your health over time. From there, we work together to uncover root causes and create a personalized, sustainable plan that supports real healing.
My approach blends the best of conventional medicine with a functional and metabolic lens, with a focus on optimizing energy, hormones, and overall vitality. My background in emergency and urgent care has given me a strong foundation in acute care, while my passion lies in helping patients navigate complex, chronic conditions and restoring balance in a way that feels both practical and empowering.
I value building long-term relationships with my patients and creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and equipped to take charge of your health. Whether you’re seeking answers, looking to optimize your well-being, or simply wanting to feel like yourself again, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
It’s truly an honor to do this work, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for patients in a more thoughtful, connected, and impactful way with Dr. Potter and his amazing team!
