Our Sanctuary Team

Lynn Day PA-C, Dr. Katherine Francis, MD

and COMING SOON Dr. Cynthia Reed DO

Lynn Day PA-C

Hi, I’m Lynn Day, a Physician Assistant with a background in family medicine and a passion for functional, whole-person care. I joined Sanctuary Functional Medicine after moving from Iowa to Tennessee—mostly to escape those brutal Midwest winters! Even though I’ve traded snow for sunshine, I’m still a die-hard Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Blackhawks fan.

One of the things I love most about being at Sanctuary is the time and space we’re given to truly connect with patients. I believe the best care starts with listening—really listening—so I can understand not just your symptoms, but your story. My goal is to help uncover the root causes of health issues and work alongside you to find sustainable, personalized solutions.

I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, and I especially value the relationships that grow over time in a family-focused practice. Whether you’re dealing with chronic illness, looking for answers to long-standing health concerns, or just wanting to feel your best, I’m here to walk with you on that journey.

It’s an honor to be part of the Sanctuary team, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to care for our patients in such a meaningful way.

Dr. Katherine “Kat” Francis, MD

Hello, I’m Dr. Francis, or Dr. Kat as many calle m.  I am a Pediatric physician since 1999 having practiced most of my career in California. Before learning of Sanctuary Functional Medicine, I have the joy of caring for adults needing wound care services, growing a program in Middle Tennessee.  I joined Sanctuary Functional Medicine in 2026 to go further in treating the whole person than conventional medicine allowed in short visits.

I love the time Sanctuary allows for me to get to know patients and educate them on their conditions, their therapies and how they can participate in their health journey.  The healing process is a journey best navigated when patient and provider work together as partners.  The other joy of working her is having time to pursue the “WHY” of sickness or imbalance in the body, as this is of utmost importance. True healing cannot be accomplished without the root cause(s) being identified and treated.

I enjoy caring for patients from  newborns to young adults in Direct Primary Care and assist Dr. Potter with all ages in the Intensive Program. Regardless of age, achieving health is different for everyone. Identifying our limitations, acknowledging our blessings, accepting our need to receive from community, embracing our giftings, are intangible concepts that have a tangible impact on our well-being.

It’s an honor to be part of the Sanctuary team and I hope to share the blessings of Sanctuary with you soon.

COMING SOON !!!

Dr. Cynthia Reed, DO

Hi, I’m Dr. Cynthia Reed, a physician with over 19 years of experience in primary care, emergency/ urgent care medicine, and functional medicine. My journey in healthcare, which included serving in the United States Air Force, has taken me through various clinical settings, shaping both my clinical perspective and my deep commitment to patient-centered care. I’m originally from Georgia, and after spending time practicing in other parts of the country, I’m truly looking forward to returning to the Southeast—a place that feels like home in so many ways– and joining the team at Sanctuary Functional Medicine.

What continues to inspire me most about this work is the opportunity to truly partner with patients in their health journey. I believe the most meaningful care begins with listening—understanding your story, your goals, and the factors that have shaped your health over time. From there, we work together to uncover root causes and create a personalized, sustainable plan that supports real healing.

My approach blends the best of conventional medicine with a functional and metabolic lens, with a focus on optimizing energy, hormones, and overall vitality. My background in emergency and urgent care has given me a strong foundation in acute care, while my passion lies in helping patients navigate complex, chronic conditions and restoring balance in a way that feels both practical and empowering.

I value building long-term relationships with my patients and creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and equipped to take charge of your health. Whether you’re seeking answers, looking to optimize your well-being, or simply wanting to feel like yourself again, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

It’s truly an honor to do this work, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for patients in a more thoughtful, connected, and impactful way with Dr. Potter and his amazing team!
