Laurel (Sunny) Austin, NP – IFM Certified

My Story…

Laurel (Sunny) Austin is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She provides compassionate, personalized care for children and adults, focusing on identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic health concerns.

Drawing on her experience in primary care and urgent care, along with her functional medicine training, Sunny takes an integrative approach to supporting health and wellness. She has a special interest in PANS/PANDAS, mycotoxin illness, gastrointestinal concerns, and environmental toxin exposure. Her goal is to partner with patients and families to develop practical treatment plans that address each patient’s unique needs.

Sunny is grateful that God led her to Sanctuary Functional Medicine, where she works alongside a multidisciplinary team that shares her commitment to holistic, root-cause care. She strives to ensure that every patient feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their health journey.

Sunny earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University in 2009 and her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2014.

Outside of the clinic, Sunny’s greatest joy is spending time with her husband and their three children.
