Let’s talk Screentime. In today’s world it seems impossible to not be sucked into using screens to occupy our little ones. It is very counter cultural now to avoid them but studies show that regular extended exposure is not good for a little brain.
This time while they are little is so precious and although you have heard it before and it can be very hard to believe, this time is fleeting. It will go by quickly. It is best to find ways to spend time with them that does not include a screen. But we can use infatuation our society has with our digital life to our advantage as well. You have access to creative ideas for how to occupy them. My daughter is raising a one and a two year old and her social media page is full of helpful tips and tricks. So many clever things I would have never even thought of. The world is full of like-minded creative people that have discovered inexpensive ways to grow a young mind and promote strong families. Do research. Ask friends. Take the extra time and find ways that will help expand their little world and keep them occupied that doesn’t include a screen. It will be worth it in more ways than you can imagine.
