Beat the Summer Heat: Light Meals for Hot Days
When the temperatures outside start to rise, our food cravings shift! Heavy, hearty meals give way to lighter fare that fuels us without weighing us down. Whether you’re lounging at the pool or beach, packing a picnic, or just trying to stay cool indoors, Summer is the perfect time to embrace fresh, hydrating, and nourishing meals.
Here is some refreshing, whole-food recipes that are perfect for hot days this Summer! These meals are packed with flavor, nutrients, and easy prep so you can spend less time cooking and more time soaking up the sunshine.

Another way to make it fun is to make it a family affair by getting the kids involved in the kitchen. Depending on your kiddos’ ages, I recommend ordering a pair of kid safe knives and having them chop some of those fresh ingredients with you. Here is an example on Amazon- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CD72MY2X.
Remember, the more color you have in your recipe, the more variation of nutrients the meal has! You can teach your kiddos all the different colors and nutrients that go with them. For example- orange fruits & veggies are packed with vitamin A which is great for immunity and wound healing. Red fruits & veggies have an antioxidant called lycopene that protect our cells and strengthen our hearts. Green fruits & veggies have vitamin K which helps keep our bones strong.
