As with many in the non-conventional world, even lawyers who are fighting for other’s rights to a mold-safe home have a story behind their work. Attorney Kristina Baehr, founder of Just Well Law, PLLC, had to fight for her own family’s justice and won in Texas recently after years of effort. Mrs. Baehr founded her legal firm after her own family suffered multiple health problems from alleged faulty construction practices in 2020. Since then, even as she helped others obtain recompense for their own moldy housing situations, she continued to fight her own legal battle.
In August, Attorney Baehr finally received a welcomed verdict with the final of three parties defending against her allegations. While two of the companies involved in the construction of her home had already agreed to a settlement, the HVAC company held out. The Texas court hearing the case found that the HVAC company shared responsibility for the loss of her home and belongings to mold growing out of faulty construction practices.
The news report provides more details, but the gist of the story is that there is hope even in our sometimes broken legal system for those who suffer from mold. I look forward to Attorney Baehr’s work in helping others recover the financial losses from moldy homes as we help them recover their physical health. Healthier, more abundant lives after mold toxicity require both approaches.
