Day 5 of “The 12 Days of a Sanctuary Functional Christmas”
“Five Minutes of Real Rest”
Taking time to Rest is a concept as old as the Creation itself. It is a concept woven into the created order. It is related to our ability to both enjoy life and fulfill our individual calling at the same time. These are just a few things to remember as you take the time to Rest.
For the 5th day of “The 12 Days of a Sanctuary Functional Christmas,” I simply encourage you to start with at least 5 minutes of rest at regular intervals throughout your day. Take 5 minutes to clear your mind of the daily clutter and fill it with the truth of eternity while you indulge in some deep breaths and find a comfortable position. Over the course of a few weeks, increase the length of time you carve out for your rest period. See if it doesn’t at least help you inch toward a healthier more abundant life – an abundant life patterned after the wisdom woven into the created order.
