Balancing Truth
Neither truth nor justice grew out of the evolution of civilization. God determined truth and justice as they flowed out of His being. Within that justice, God hates when men deceive one another through false measurements.
For good reason, we would be appalled if we learned that our favorite gas station actually dispense nine-tenths of a gallon rather than one gallon. We would be disgusted if the gallon of milk turned out to be considerably less. We inherently know that truth matters in how we measure.
We should also be appalled when we learn that the promises of health and joy from the world do not produce lasting fruit. We should be disappointed with our own self-deceit that we can keep living lives without regard for our health and expect good health to arise out of thin air.
Like God we should recognize the false balances and false weights of the world and hate them. The world measures out short term highs but fail to tell the whole story of long term lows. Seek balances and weights which reflect the truth of how God created the world.
