Proverbs 3:21-27
Darkness Offers Not the Shield Which Light Doth Yield
Walking through the dark night of one’s soul exposes one to great temptations. If one’s mind and heart offer no security from previously accumulated wisdom, the dark night likely drives one to fear, even madness or escape. However, the light of wisdom lends itself to another story’s ending.
Wisdom allows one to walk that dark night with security, avoiding stumbles. Wisdom permits rest, sweet rest, as one can rest without fear. Surprise terrors do not rattle. The fall of the wicked and foolish does not startle. Such wisdom comes from knowing the Giver of wisdom and having confidence. You may even give good to others when your strength is grounded in such wisdom.
May all who care for those who suffer walk in such wisdom that they may impart this life-giving gift and see it restore the brokenness of body and soul. May we at Sanctuary be counted in this number of wisdom givers.
