Striving for the True Riches
While we may grunt and groan in our strainings after material gains, our efforts only carry our lives to a point both in the here and now and in the life to come. Wisdom and righteousness to the contrary bear more lasting fruits.
Wisdom grants pleasure now to one who has understanding. Only the one with understanding will recognize the fruit of that wisdom and seek after it.
Meanwhile, the wicked will suffer the very dreaded peril they feared and fought to avoid. Through their lack of wisdom, they will fall prey to their nightmares. In contrast, the desire of the righteous will find fulfillment in that they began with the wisdom of doing what was right.
When the tempest storm passes over the wicked, they will not stand against its force. They have not the strength of wisdom to withstand its winds. After the tempest storm, the righteous are found to stand as they are established upon wisdom from above.
As we strive after our physical health, let us not ignore the health of our spirits which lasts much longer.
