I just wanted to share a quick post about legislation effecting Direct Primary Care in the state of Oklahoma. State Senators there passed Senate Bill 560 protecting patients from losing direct primary care membership agreements in the workplace or such agreements from being considered as insurance. Next it goes to the house. Rep. David Derby is quoted in the article from HeraldOnline.com as saying, “Widespread support is expected for this bill in the Oklahoma legislature, because it emphasizes individual responsibility for health care choices and payments, while it restores the patient-doctor relationship.”
When this economic model of healthcare is examined closely, the benefits are obvious. I pray that more leaders across our nation will come to recognize these benefits and provide protection for patients and their physicians. A few states have done so… will Tennessee do so?
